Situated close enough to major cities to reap the benefits of their distinctive assets -- just 20 minutes from the twin cities of Sterling -Rock Falls, 30 minutes from Freeport, 30 minutes from the Mississippi River, and an hour from both Rockford and the Quad Cities -- Milledgeville is also distant enough to enjoy a peaceful, relaxed nature all its own.
Mount Carroll is the county seat of Carroll County, a rural county located in the northwest corner of Illinois. Savanna is located in Carroll County Illinois along the Mississippi River at the mouth of the Plum River. Going from north to south, the second automobile bridge between Iowa and Illinois is located just north of Savanna, and is part of the U.S. Highway 52 route. The bridge leads to Sabula, Iowa, which is across the river from Savanna. U.S. Highway 52 goes through Savanna. Several miles to the South of us is Thomson Illinois seen quite a bit in the news recently where the Thomson Prison is located.
The City of Fulton, Illinois is a quaint community, rich in heritage and charm, located along the banks of the Mississippi River. The citizens of Fulton, Illinois are committed to volunteering their time and effort in making Fulton a good place to live and do business.
Chadwick is the youngest community in Carroll County and located 130 miles west of Chicago...The business houses on Main Street are well kept reflecting a prosperity which does justice to the energetic efforts of our people and business men. Various kinds of businesses have come and gone effecting many changes in the overall picture of our lovely village since it was first platted.

Apple Canyon Lake is a private recreation community with a beautiful 9-hole golf course and lakeside restaurant, BOTH OPEN TO THE PUBLIC, in the heart of scenic Jo Daviess County, just minutes from historic Galena, Elizabeth, Scales Mound, and Stockton. We are nestled in the rolling hills approximately six miles north of US20 and just south of Stagecoach Trail.
The City of Lanark is a beautiful community, with its stately trees, an historic, picturesque business district and magnificent old and new homes. Lanark takes great pride in the academic and extracurricular achievements of its students in the Eastland School District. The community is proactive in its growth and determined to enhance quality of life of its residents by expanding its library and municipal building, adding a new gymnasium at the high school and building a wonderful veterans memorial.
